Investment Banking CertificationQuestion: How can an investment banking professional build their network?

Answer: There are a few common ways for investment banking professionals to build their networks. At the junior levels, it helps for such bankers to be aware of other professionals within their firm and possibly with peers at other firms. Keeping in touch with school classmates is never a bad idea. Over the course of a few years in the business, investment bankers will build a network of contacts from their transaction experience; such contacts could include investors, management teams at operating businesses, lawyers and accountants. For bankers who specialize in a particular product or industry, conference attendance could also serve to build a network.
