Question: What tools do investment banking professionals use every once in a while?
Answer: The tools or resources that are less likely to be used on a daily basis may include things such as accounting textbooks, options calculators (online), bond math techniques, and other resources within a firm such as lawyers, compliance specialists and travel coordinators. While concepts such as option pricing and bond math don’t necessarily need to be memorized, they do need to be understood so that answers can be retrieved. Likewise, no one expects an entry-level banker to be a legal expert, but such junior bankers should know how to go about getting answers to questions from the proper sources.
